Duplo adds folder to finish multifinishers

Duplo’s mid range multifinisher gain further functionality with availability of an inline folder.

Duplo UK has launched an inline folder to add to its DC618 and DC648 multifinishers. The DCF100 folder eliminates the requirement for a separate folding step diverting manpower from other tasks. It gives the mid range machines the same sort of functionality that the top of the range DC746 includes.

The folder links to the main machine through a simple, single ‘hot connector’ plug attachment providing power and set up data to make it easy to implement the folder and remove it if needed.

The first units have already arrived in the UK with the first installed at Minuteman Bath, which ordered the unit having seen it demonstrated at Duplo’s Addlestone showroom. The company bought it the same day.

Others have also ordered the folder, though without the same degree of urgency. The appeal is that the folder improves efficiency at minimal additional cost and increases the productivity of the workforce through automation.

Duplo UK sales manager Craig Harry says: “The DCF100 streamlines the workflow for many products by automating the entire process, from uncut sheet all the way to folding, freeing up valuable time and resources. There is no set up of a separate device, there is automatic adjustment and set up.  It is optimised for most common folds.

“We know businesses are looking for solutions for reducing manual tasks that eat into margins.

For businesses seeking to drive their productivity and profitability, the DCF100 will be a game changer.”

The multifinisher can deliver business cards and non folded items to a conveyor if required. It will take a 1000mm sheet with a single fold, down to an 85mm long product with a width down to 48mm. Paper range is from 110-400gsm.

It had been possible to attach a folder unit inline to older generation multi finishers. This, however, used a bridge system which is not needed on the F100. This eliminates any risk that sheets might skew between the delivery of the multifinisher and arriving at the folder.

Set up uses an additional tab to the standard interface. This holds a number of standard folds as templates which need parameters adding. It is also possible to create bespoke folding patterns.
