Go Inspire’s 2021 investment spend reaches £4 million

Go Inspire has upgraded printing and mailing this year and at the same time taken great strides towards managing carbon emissions.

Go Inspire has completed implementation of a £4 million spend during 2021 involving both print and finishing equipment.

Chief executive Pat Headley spoke about the plans alongside a strategy for the group to have lead supplier status with customers. It has signed up TalkTalk and BT and the investment has been needed to cope with the growth.

On the finishing side this has involved installation of a second Bowe Fusion Speed and an order for a Bowe Fusion Cross inserting line, to increase capacity by 24,000 packs an hour, as well as a Mail Consolidator, which should be operational before the end of the year.

The investment in print capacity has already included an upgrade to the HP PageWide T250 to HD status, a Xerox Baltoro cutsheet inkjet press and Neopost printer.

Nick Cole, managing director at Go Inspire, says: “We’re delighted to be seeing consistent growth at Go Inspire but we want to be sure that we can reliably deliver for all of our clients, and keep up with the pace of their requirements. With this investment, we’re well placed to support our existing and new clients with their direct market and transactional communications needs, across a wide range of formats and enclosures.”

At the same time as investing in additional manufacturing capacity, Go Inspire has been on the journey to zero carbon production. In March it became the largest UK printer to be able to offer Carbon Balanced print after working with CarbonCo, so far offsetting 3,402 tonnes of carbon by protecting 190 acres of habitat through the World Land Trust.

It has signed a three-year deal with Eco Vadis to work on the 21 indicators on the Eco Vadis scorecard. Go Inspire has already achieved silver status with EcoVadis and says: “Many of the improvements required to achieve our objective of securing a Gold Medal are already underway.” It has also joined Two Sides and has sourced a fully biodegradable envelope, with a fibre based material for what is traditionally a plastic film window. The company is now aiming to achieve certification for ISO50001 for energy management systems.
