Xerox buys Advanced UK to add to supply chain portfolio

Xerox has added Advanced UK to a growing portfolio of data and service led dealers capable of supporting Xerox’s growth in IT services.

Xerox has taken over long standing concessionaire Advanced UK, a near neighbour to its UK headquarters in Uxbridge.

While the most recent Xerox acquisition in the UK was Go Inspire, before that it had been wrapping up distribution businesses, buying Itec and Alltodigital in 2020, operating across print management, office printing as well as production print. Advanced UK falls into this pattern with IT services, document management and sustainability alongside the full range of Xerox print technology, including Iridesse, iGen and Baltoro.

The deal has been made possible by the decision of Advanced managing director Phil Tucker to retire. In a statement on the company’s website, he says: “I am delighted that Advanced has joined the Xerox family. Advanced has enjoyed a very strong business relationship with Xerox for over 32 years and this new union will give the business far greater reach in our market, offering additional services and solutions to our existing and new customers. Advanced will benefit from the additional resources that a global corporation will provide but still retain the agility and flexibility an SME can deliver, the best of both worlds, Think Global Act Local’.

“I am leaving the business but Advanced will continue to thrive with the existing leadership team which will be led by Richard Nevard. The business will continue to trade as Advanced, powered by Xerox and will continue to be based in Uxbridge.”

Sales director Joe Gallagher adds: “As a long standing Xerox Platinum partner we knew that Xerox was the perfect fit to take the business forward and drive differentiated growth opportunities.”

For Xerox the appeal has been the development of services for a wide range of corporate and SME customers.

Head of Xerox Business Solutions and small and medium businesses at Xerox UK Kevin Paterson explains: “With its impressive capabilities and heritage in production print, Advanced UK already has a strong local client base. We look forward to bringing the industry’s most comprehensive portfolio of services to an exciting new set of Xerox customers.”
