The StickerShop in Bristol has installed its third Titanium digital cutter from IGS, adding a smaller format machine to a Titanium 2516 and 330R machines.
The new device is a Titanium 0806 which will help ease bottlenecks and cope with what has been a 25% increase in orders this year. This machine can handle both flat sheet work and rolls stickers that need finishing. And says director Callum Baker “there are a lot of flat sheets that need finishing”. He runs the business with Shane Pritchard.
The cutting table has been installed ahead of the busiest period of the year for the business. “The year follows a regular rhythm. Volumes build up towards the summer, then drops over the summer building up to the Christmas peak after the holidays and then volumes fall back again,” says Baker.
The company prints on nine Roland large format machines and two Ricoh cut sheet printers and has found volumes growing fast.
“The number of orders coming through the website is growing and growing,” he says. “We supply a lot for cosmetics, for candlemakers and for other small producers that are trading on the internet. We find that a lot of designers are ordering stickers who are then supplying them to their followers on social media.”
The growth has put pressure on space in Bristol which the StickerShop is addressing through installation of a mezzanine floor in the coming weeks. It will also adding to the current 13 staff.
The new machine will cut out up to 70 800x600mm sheets a minute with an automatic feeding head and coping with a wide range of self adhesive materials needed for stickers and labels. It is matched with JWPS software with access to a vast library of customisable box and packaging templates for further automation.
