Like supermarkets fighting for the consumer’s purse, Solopress has created a Value range of products priced to appeal to cost conscious buyers.
Solopress is setting a new price point for low cost print products under the Solopress Value label.
The range covers a limited range of products and with a limited number of choices for each product to enable the Southend on Sea business to optimise its production flow and fill gaps in the capacity. The range covers business cards, compliment slips and letterheads for functional print; flyers, folded leaflets, posters and stapled brochures for promotional print and Foamex boards and roller banners from the signage range.
Managing director Simon Cooper says: “We’ve introduced this low cost range in response to circumstances that many print buyers are encountering right now.
“The market has been significantly subdued by recent events, with budgets getting squeezed across the board. However, there’s certainly a desire among businesses to persist and even expand promotional activity where possible as they endure the current crisis.
“We wanted to support resellers as they strive to meet the needs of businesses operating under difficult circumstances. Solopress Value allows resellers to offer an entire suite of printed materials at rock bottom prices, or to let customers pick and choose from the range, rationalising in certain areas while investing more heavily in others.”
The impossibility of staging events and having business meetings has crashed demand for business cards and promotional print as well as printed items associated with conferences and exhibitions.
A quick comparison shows Solopress setting a new price point for business cards. It will charge £9.14 for 250 cards printed on 400gsm material. Instantprint charges £17.00 for 250 85x55mm cards printed on 450gsm board. Tradeprint will produce 250 cards on 450gsm board for £15.33 while Vistaprint’s lowest price is £12.57 for 100 cards printed on 300gsm paper.
Solopress claims that “at a time when budgets are squeezed more than ever, Solopress Value affords welcome savings for buyers and marketers alike”. This may, however, become the first shot that ignites a further supermarket style price war.
