Prinergy 11 has direct connection to inkjet

The latest version of a well established workflow increases support for digital printing, led by direct connections to Kodak’s Prosper presses.

A direct connection to Kodak’s Prosper digital presses is a key element of the latest release of its Prinergy workflow.

Previously the output from Prinergy has been optimised for plate production and a litho first workflow. Jobs for inkjet printing, which can need adjustment from litho settings, may have needed adjustment  before reaching the inkjet presses. With a print speed of up to 410m/min on the Prosper 7000 Turbo, PDFs need to be optimised in order to Rip on the fly in order to ensure the press speed is not restrained.

Prinergy 11 is designed to do this, not just for Prosper, but also for a wide range of digital presses says Kodak. It “provides an integrated and future proof workflow automation solution that consolidates production across digital and analogue printing processes,” says Kodak.

The new version includes features to enhance security as workflows move towards the cloud and builds on the use of HTML5. Java is replaced by Corretto for this reason. It includes support for the Windows 2022 and Mac OS14 operating systems and to that latest versions of the APPE Rip. There is support for Apple’s high resolution mode on Retina displays.

The Rules based Automation improvements make it easier to remake plates, increases the number of characters when naming jobs.

There is greater integration between Colorflow and Harmony’s calibration curves, with the ability to import ink limiting curves and improvements to the reliability when using Prinergy plug ins.

Chief IT implementation officer Jim Barnes says: “The release of version 11.0 means Prinergy is more than ever the key to unlocking efficiency, productivity and profitability for printers in today’s digital, analogue and hybrid print production.

“The Prinergy platform will continue to provide printers with advanced tools, automation and close collaboration options to stay competitive and profitable.
