Mitcham printer Positive Images has added a high speed Ricoh Pro C9210 to its Indigo press to give it the option of a larger sheet size, up to 1,260mm long.
Investment in a Horizon SPF/FC200L booklet maker can take advantage of the long sheet the Ricoh can bring to deliver A4 landscape brochures. The new press can also print to 450gsm which opens up possibilities in lightweight cartons.
Production director Mike Sullivan says: “The new Ricoh will make short runs of A4 landscape brochures much more cost effective and there will be a lot less material wasted.” This will also be achieved through investment in Prinect for the company’s Heidelberg litho presses, delivering more accurate information to the SM74-6 and XL75-5 B2 presses. A Suprasetter A75 platesetter completes the round of investment.
The full service family owned company runs from design to large format print with online ordering for contracted clients and multichannel marketing backed by ISO 27001 certification. “As a company we have always moved with the times and invested in new and leading technology,” says managing director Danny Sullivan.
As well as digital and litho printing, the company runs Roland DG inkjet presses for large format display printing on both papers and fabrics.
Positive Images runs a sales office in central London as well as the 2,000m2 factory on the Willow Lane Industrial Estate it moved to in 2005. It generates sales of £2 million with 23 staff.
