Chris Ferrari-Wills is joining Micropress as national sales manager bringing decades of experience in selling to publishers.
Micropress has appointed Chris Ferrari-Wills as national sales manager following on from a series of investments at the factory in Southwold.
Ferrari-Wills has almost a quarter of a century in magazine sales at Manson Group in St Albans, but has handcuffs on approaching existing clients. Micropress installed a long perfecting Speedmaster XL106 with plate to unit technology last year, which is still the only one in operation in the UK, and has since installed the UK’s first Jetfire 50 inset press alongside the Canon iX3200 which is the basis for the Heidelberg machine. This opens a wider spread of work than two long perfecting B1 Speedmasters can cover.
The investment spree has created additional capacity that the company is keen to fill with work from new clients. It has also worked to optimise its digital and internal workflows, reducing waste, and is increasing its solar panel smallholding alongside the factory as well across the roof.
Micropress comments that the decision comes “at a time when the print sector is undergoing sustained change, promoting many in the industry to rethink how best to support publishers facing tighter margins and shifting commercial pressures”.
Joint managing director Rob Cross says: “We are delighted to welcome Chris to the Micropress family. As we continue to grow our customer base in an ever evolving market, Micropress remains committed to delivering outstanding customer service, driving sustainability throughout the business, and providing market leading value for our customers.
“We know that Chris shares these values and ambitions, which makes him a perfect fit for the business. We are passionate about the future of print and firmly believe in the continued importance of printed products. We look forward to Chris playing a key role in the next chapter of Micropress and contributing to the future success of the company.”
Micropress has a publishing arm, Countrywide Publications, with titles in the leisure, agriculture, forestry and tourism sectors. It acquired Machinery Mart from MM Media earlier this year.
