MBO has released a special edition of its K32 combination folder to mark a year since completion of its acquisition by Komori.
The K32 KSE (Komori Special Edition) will be available until August and is supplied with what Friedheim International calls “a comprehensive equipment package”. This includes an additional set of transport belts and feeding from the pallet.
There are two versions of the B1 folder available, an automated version with six servo driven buckle plates while the manual version has four buckle plates.
Both include touch screen interface to MBO’s M1 control and set up system, remote maintenance software and service. There are Virotec covered rollers for the parallel fold unit. The slitter shaft is on an easy to switch cassette.
Both versions also include the A80 delivery stacker which is a match for the CoBo Stack robot arm to move folded sections from the delivery to a pallet without operator intervention.
The folder is designed for ease of use and fast makeready and for consistent output at up to 230m/min top speed. Maximum sheet size is 780×1,200mm and minimum 170x250mm.
MBO became part of Komori last year after plans for Heidelberg to buy its rival were stymied by the German competition authorities. It is a deal that has been welcomed for adding technology to MBO’s range, brining greater financial stability and opening up Asian markets in particular.
Sales remained constant during 2020 despite the impact of the pandemic. “It was even possible to gain some important major customers who had previously bought from the competition,” it says.
The introduction of a special edition folding machine echoes that of Heidelberg which in 2019 introduced a 70th anniversary edition of the Stahlfolder KH82 combination folder with rapid delivery and substantial discount to the previous list price.
