Konica Minolta offers hub for training and service

The Service Hub will organise call outs ahead of time and meet training needs says Konica Minolta.

Konica Minolta has started a service hub to support customers with training, analytics and maintenance to improve customer productivity.

The company describes Service Hub as “a professional print support ecosystem” for both inkjet and toner press users. It covers not just the press itself but any inline finishing attached. It relates to hardware, so the linkage of the Rip to MIS and to order capturing software is not included. That said the training and support covers colour management and paper profiles and process automation.

The support and training is delivered both through online connectivity and at in-person training at the Houghton Regis site. “Training is a core pillar of the offer,” the company says. “Service Hub combines remote support and digital tools with structured training and the training programme provides operator development through Konica Minotla training centres and centres of excellence.”

The second core element is an analytics package that picks up one data from the machinery to identify where maintenance is needed before a failure affects production and also to show where operating improvements can be made.

This is a package that Konica Minolta calls Automated Quality Adjustment and has been proven in other European markets. The Service Cockpit is the remote support platform that will connect the customer with an engineer less than 60 minutes away. This includes augmented reality diagnosis and remote guidance to solve problems faster than this where possible.

Professional print operations lead Jack O’Donnell says: “Service Hub represents our vision for the future of production print support. It’s about empowering our customers with the tools, skills and intelligence they need to run their print operations at peak performance.

“By combining the expertise of our people with the capability of our customers, and integrating automation and intelligent technologies, we are transforming service from a reactive break/fix model into a proactive, performance driven partnership.”

The company points out that there is no additional cost for customers to take advantage of the initiative.
