Konica Minolta delivers digital boost in Lancashire

The Media Village has grown its digital volumes 20% since installation of a C1100.

The Media Village has taken delivery of the first Konica Minolta Press C1100 in Lancashire. And the 20 year old business is already boosting its digital printing business as a result of the investment in Konica Minolta’s flagship colour press.

The machine was launched at Ipex and has recently formed the centrepiece of a nationwide tour as part of KM’s Enable Your Business workshops including presentations from consultants as well as the technology.

The Media Village has been using Konica Minolta digital presses for five years, but this did not mean that it would automatically return to the supplier. Production director Aaron Sheard says: “The C1100 was chosen simply it was the first choice for image quality, production quality and productivity from all the machines we looked at.”

The Altham company offers a fully range of communications services from photography to copywriting, from litho to wide format and cutsheet digital printing, and the installation has already boosted the amount of digital work that the company handles. Sheard explains: “The C1100 has now been installed for just over a month and is already having an impact on our growth plans. We have increased digital production by approximately 20% in the first month and expect this to grow further.”

The press was a highlight in Konica Minolta’s nationwide Enable your business workshop tour that featured presentations from leading independent consultants alongside the technology.

For Konica Minolta market development manager Mark Hinder the success of the road shows and of installations like that at The Media Village highlight the breakthrough that the company is making in the production colour market. “The C1100 and C1085 is the next step in the colour production printer market he says. “This new technology allows our customers improved productivity and quality across a range of applications which support them to grow their business.”
