Kilcoyne-Guilliam moves south for Solopress

Former Bluetree veteran Sarah Kilcoyne-Guilliam will continue to live in Yorkshire even if her new job with Solopress brings her south to Essex.

Sarah Kilcoyne-Guilliam has joined Solopress as sales and customer success director just weeks after leaving Bluetree Group when it closed Kingsbury Press where she had been deputy general manager.

Before then she had had several jobs with Bluetree over a 14-year period. She was already on the Solopress radar when she was made redundant.

Solopress needed someone to join the senior management team in what managing director Simon Cooper calls “a high level strategic position”.

“Bit by bit, we have been attracting good talent from around the industry and Sarah is just what we are looking for. We had a gap in our leadership in sales and looking after customer service and we needed someone to coordinate and structure that. She was manna from heaven.”

She spent her first week in Southend acclimatising to the business where she will spend three days a week with two on the road or working from home in Yorkshire. She will be responsible for customer acquisition and retention, development of SoloPro and overseeing customer support. The move comes as Solopress continues to develop relationships with customers over the long term and with a substantial spend each year rather than smaller accounts buying simpler products. “It is a very different business to one that started off offering low prices on business cards to plumbers,” says Cooper. “By bringing in the experience that Sarah, Paul O’Connor and Philip Foster have it gives us the opportunity to get access to the spending a higher amount on print and who have higher expectations than the previous customers.”

Kilcoyne-Guilliam posted on LinkedIn: “Hearing the long term strategic plans not just for the Solopress brand but for the group as a whole and the innovative plan we have to continue better serving customer expectations.

“I’m eager to bring my experience and expertise to the table. I was very much drawn to the progressive management style and workplace culture here, and I look forward to driving new business, consolidating Solopress’ renowned service levels and identifying new service offerings that can benefit customers.”
