Full Spectrum plans growth in cartons

The Basildon business has invested with IGS to prepare for diversification in 2026.

Basildon print Full Spectrum is planning to focus on growth in short run packaging and display sectors in 2026 on the back of investment in a Platinum 1325 UV printer and Titanium cutting table, both from IGS.

CEO Kevin Walker says: “One of our goals for 2026 is to continue to expand our portfolio of packaging and wide format services. It was therefore vital that we acquired highly precise and complementary machinery. The demonstration of the Platinum UV printer and the Titanium cutter working together at a live site was crucial. Through consultation, we focused on the Platinum 1325 and the Titanium 2516 Conveyor model with router to achieve our vision.”

Full Spectrum is a diverse operation running B1 and B2 Heidelbergs as well as digital print producing work for the top end of the hospitality sector, major corporates and publishers, It also prints greetings cards for sister company Offset Charity Christmas Cards.

The new set up enables Full Spectrum to produce a range of packaging prototypes for its existing and new customers. The Platinum 1325 UV is a flatbed printer able to print 244x1220mm boards including wood, glass and metal as well as more conventional substrates like boxboard and corrugated. It is fitted with Ricoh Gen 6 piezo printheads.

The Titanium 2516 table can cope with this format and materials to 50mm thick as well as more conventional packaging materials.

Walker says: “The combined efficiency means we can satisfy short-run cut/crease and kiss-cutting productions, which complements our small format digital capabilities.

“The large cutting bed of the Titanium, fed by the Platinum’s output, means we are now able to offer a comprehensive range of wide format products, including wall, floor, and window graphics. An added benefit of the cutter was that its high precision drag knife allows us to cut our Heidelberg litho coating blankets to create intricate varnish areas.”

The company’s five-colour CD74 has an inline coating unit.

IGS managing director Peter Flynn adds: “Having listened to their dual requirement for both printing and finishing high end, bespoke applications, we felt the Platinum 1325 and the Titanium 2516 were the perfect combination.”
