Eco3 will introduce Eclipse Pro, a new process-free litho plate at Drupa. According to Eco3 the new plate “offers an exceptional wide print latitude, superior and stable image contrast and outstanding scratch resistance”.
The plate is designed as a drop in replacement for a conventional plate, requiring no change to press chemistry or set up and suited to conventional as well as HUV or LED inks used in commercial printing.
The latent image is good for 24 hours exposure to office light, says the company, thanks to the high contrast colour image on the plate which can be recognised by punch and bending systems. The contrast helps reduce loading errors on press.
The Eclipse Pro sits alongside the chemistry free Adamas plate. This has been tweaked to make it suitable for carton printing. Both fit in Eco3’s suite of products to reduce consumable usage. This includes software to reduce ink consumption using Spiral Screening, Solid Tune and Ink Tune while improve colour quality and consistency and so paper waste at start up.
The new plate will form a centrepiece of the section of the Eco3 stand dedicated to offset. This amounts to half of the company’s presence in Hall 5. The other half of the stand is given over to flexo printing with a live demonstration of a fully aqueous plate production. “This is about providing printers with a sustainable system that will reduce the amount of waste associated with flexo printing,” says Eco3 head of marketing Guy Desmet.
This will be shown producing a 42x60in plate alongside larger solvent processed plates and connected to the Amortise packaging workflow. “This give Eco3 a complete portfolio for the flexo industry,” he says.
The company will also be promoting its use of AI alongside Industry 4.0 to improve service via predictive maintenance and to result in maximum uptime for users.
