Duplo plans to recreate the demonstrations that drew the crowds at Drupa at a Discover Duplo open house next month.
Duplo is bringing Drupa to Addlestone in a Discover Drupa open house at the end of September.
The company will assemble most of the equipment it was showing at the German mega show in its UK showroom and over two days will put stitching, cutting and embellishment technology through its paces. This includes the B2 format products: DDC8000 DuSense, DSM1000 die cutter and B2 Blade digital cutting table, as well as the new Senshi saddle stitcher and DC products.
The aim is to bring the Drupa experience to companies that did not get to Germany at the end of May. The same set of applications as at Drupa will be demonstrated during the two days on 25-26 September.
The Senshi is Duplo’s most productive booklet maker to date, including features and updates to the iSaddle 5.0, to increase the range of products possible, increased automation and intelligence to deal with a continuous flow of different jobs using a number of feeding modules to deliver sheets from collating towers through a folder to a saddle to accumulate the sections and cover ahead of the variable stitching heads and trimmer.
It sits alongside the DBM700 booklet maker which was launched late last year and the range of DC multi finishers. This will include options with the F100 integrated folder.
The full carton finishing line which was a major draw at Drupa where two different finished cartons were delivered in seven minutes cannot be replicated in Surrey, At Drupa B2 sheets were first embellished on the B2 DDC8000 and then moved to the DSM1000 flatbed die cutter. To complete the process there was a prototype of a folder gluer concept which is not likely to be marketed until next year. Likewise a B1 format cutting table that was put through its paces at Drupa remains in development until later this year.
The level of interest and inquiries received for the folder gluer may spur faster development in Japan, something that Duplo International is pushing for.
In the meantime the products that were available to buy from the stand at Drupa will be on order at the open house on 25-26 September.
