Discount flyers will drive UK business for FlyerAlarm

The Germany online print giant is hoping to sweep up orders for flyers through discounting to attract printers to its trade service.

FlyerAlarm is using its muscle to offer UK customers a range of flyers at up to a 45% discount to normal prices in order to accelerate the growth of print volumes and in a bid to cash in on growing demand for fast turnaround hard copy marketing materials.

The reduction comes on top of a trade customer discount of 11% and a 10% introductory offer for new customers on their first order. There is no expectation that trade buyers will pass on the discounted rates to their clients. “This provides the opportunity of improved profit margins for print resellers across the board and we are delighted to be able to offer a service which we believe will benefit the print industry as a whole,” said Keith Hanson, FlyerAlarm’s UK head of operations.

“The full 45% saving applies to some of the 300gsm grade flyers with heavier quality paper while other grades attract savings of varying amounts. This makes our prices some of the lowest available and we are hoping they will drive the market.”

The move is independent of Onlineprinters’ acquisition of Solopress and of the start up of Quinns printers factory in Warrington which will offer same day delivery of simple products to the area around the factory.

customers can upload artwork or can use the design creator software to automate production of artwork through a choice of templates to give up to 1 million design styles. These cover double sides print, textured and plastic substrates, premium finishing including varnish and lamination and added value hot foils.

Says Hanson: “We can even provide scented flyers with soft-feel, single-sided silk, while our flat hot foil stamping is not only unique both to look at and to touch, but also creates an impressive three-dimensional effect.”

Hanson became country manager in January this year and has started to increase the company’s profile in the UK. FlyerAlarm is the largest of the German online printers and high profile marketing activities include advertising on the hoardings at the Germany/England international recently. Hanson has also instigated a new telephone hotline (0800 151 0181).
