Norwich sheetfed printer Crowes has replaced an old folder with a new Horizon AFC-564A and managed to bring work back in house that used to be put out for finishing.
Intelligent Finishing Systems supplied the folder along with a MKU mobile knife unit to add an extra fold after products leave the folder and a PST40 stacker which eases the pressure on the operator as the new folder is so much more productive and faster than that it replaces.
Managing director Simon Tilbrook says the investment has made a significant impact. “We were sending out a lot of jobs but now we can bring most of them inhouse. As a result we can be quicker and more responsive.
“We are also able now to print two or three up, taking out the gutter which makes us more competitive.”
