B&B celebrates sustainability with Be Green webinar

Rotherham printer B&B Press is educating its customers about the role of sustainability having become of the few UK carbon balanced printers last year.

B&B Press is staging its Be Green webinar of the year on Thursday this week, focusing on the growing glamour for sustainability from a brand and marketing perspective. And while the event is an extension of the company’s Be Brilliant Club for designers, brands and agencies, the Be Green session is open to all who register.

The Rotherham printer became a carbon balanced printer in the spring last year, but with lockdowns in place, did not declaim its achievement at the time. But now comes the opportunity. The carbon balanced printer scheme uses donations to the World Land Trust to preserve threatened forests across the world, locking up the carbon that these amenities represent.

“At B&B Press, we believe it is our responsibility to do everything we possibly can to minimise effects on the environment,” says sales and marketing director Dave Stones. “Over a decade ago we started our journey too become as eco friendly as possible and we will be sharing our plans for 2021 as a carbon balanced printer.”

Dan Bradbury, director of communications and development at the Sir David Attenborough endorsed charity, will be the key speaker at the event. He worked in design print and packaging before switching to conservation eight years ago. “I believe that these areas can play a really important part in what the World Land Trust is trying to achieve, but also in the battle against climate change,” he says.

Support for the World Land Trust can reflect well on a brand and business, he says, and will use the session to explain how.

The free to attend event will  include a second presentation, from designer David Saunderson  from Hydra Creative in Sheffield, following the theme by explaining the role of carbon footprint in brand management, what the brand includes and why it is important.

The event begins at 10.30am, timed to run until 12.15pm and is free for participants. More than 50 designers and agencies have signed up, says Stones.
