Rapidly expanding German owned labels group has bought Olympus Print Group as its first UK acquisition, vowing to make more.
All4Labels, a rapidly expanding European based labels group, has acquired Olympus Print Group as its first UK acquisition.
The move strengthens both parties. All4Labels gains a foothold in the UK while after 28 years, Olympus Print Group acquires a financially strong partner. The deal follows only months after Asteria, another fast expanding European group, acquired CS Labels as its first UK deal.
This is the fifth deal in the last 12 months for All4Labels. CEO Adrian Tippenhauer says: “This transaction represents a new milestone for All4Labels as we will get access to the important and dynamic UK market with a strong partner who can cater for existing and future customers with high quality label solutions.
“The acquisition marks the beginning of our strategy to build a leading business unit in the UK through investments in organic and acquisitive growth.”
All4Labels resulted from merger between Rako Etiketten, a German group, X-Label and Baumgarten in 2016. The emphasis is on the opportunities arising from digital printing. Three years after the merger, private equity fund Triton took on the stake of a previous investment fund with belief in the long term future for labels. In 2020 All4Labels had sales of €503 million.
Olympus adds a £11 million in revenue to those figures and a further 86 staff as well as a line of conventional, hybrid and digital presses. The company is an adherent of Domino’s inkjet technology and last year was named the beta site for the N710i high sped inkjet label press, the first to use Brothers’ BitStar 1200dpi printheads.
Olympus Print Group director Steve Cartwright says: “The decision to join a partnership with a global, like minded and innovative packaging group was made easy as All4Labels shares the same strong values as Olympus Print Group. The full senior management team and employees look forward to working with All4Labels in the future.”
Olympus Print is located close to a number of other print companies in Leeds, including fellow label printer Print-Leeds, Pressision and Metprint.
It operates from a 5,100m2 factory producing labels for the personal care, household, homes and gifts and beers, wines and spirits sectors. As well as labels the company is able to produce point of sale, including banners and pop ups for exhibitions, events and retain.
Prior to this acquisition, All4Labels had announced a deal to buy Flexoprint Labels in Brazil in February, Limo Labels in Denmark in January and in November last year acquired Labelprint24.com and Packaging-warehouse.com. Both are German businesses.
All4Labels says there are now 32 production sites in the group, with two operations in China, two in Brazil and one each in Mexico and South Africa. Sales this year will be more than €600 million.
