Duplo joins the online set for launch

Duplo is launching an automated workflow aimed at the small printer in a series of online sessions over the next two weeks.

Duplo International is joining the virtual set, staging online events in lieu of participation at Drupa this year.

The company will today host sessions on ‘Drive productivity and simplicity’ with the recently launched DC618 multifinisher to the fore to demonstrate how print can adapt to what may become the new normal. The session is repeated on 4 November.

On 28 October, repeated on 5 November, the company will launch an automated workflow based on Ultimate’s Impostrip Pro. This is suited to smaller printers and positioned to be affordable while achieving greater productivity, fewer mistakes and faster turnaround times and generating savings of at least £29,000 a year, says Duplo.

The Impostrip Pro solution works back from the finished product to the acceptance of a  job as a PDF file. This is dropped into a hot folder with job requirements matched with the capabilities and settings on the finishing device and using this to set the print engine’s DFE. Duplo’s equipment will read job settings from a barcode with registration marks to automate the set up.

“Our software solution enables digital printers to get the most automation out of their investment, allowing them to handle short-run jobs and print on demand cost effectively and quickly, even with level entry finishing solutions such as our DC618,” says product specialist managerAndy Cuff.

The printer enjoys an immediate gain as staff have no need to follow the job. Once in the system, the process should be error free with none of the inconsistency that can arise when different people run the same job.

The third event is focused on the PFI Blade B3 cutting table to ‘Unleash the world of print packaging creativity’ and opening new revenue streams and coping with challenging jobs.

Each session starts at 10.00am GMT and following discussion and demonstration has a Q&A session. Duplo has previously staged educational webinars but this is the first time it is using the online structure to launch a product. It hopes that it can generate enough interest for those watching to want to follow up, either with further online communication or a Covid secure demonstration at the offices in Addlestone.
