Route 1 Print recognised in fastest growing league

Route 1 Print has grown from sales of £3.5 million to £14 million in three years, an achievement recognised by earning a place on the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100.

Route 1 Print online print business was formed in 2012 as an Ebay trader to complement sister company Instantprint.

It was acquired by large format and print management business Bluetree Group three years ago. Growth since has averaged 62% a year to the point where the company employs 197 at premises in Rotherham.

The company was started by James Kinsella and Adam Carnell to provide digital, litho and wide format print to trade buyers including designers, agencies and copy shops. It is on the look out to grow its reseller network, improving the tools on the website and product offerings to do so.

Head of client services Kate Mackenzie says: “We are always listening to what our clients have to say and we’re always aiming to exceed their needs and we feel we couldn’t have achieved this feat without this two-way relationship.”

The Yorkshire company was ranked No 50 in a list which included leading restaurant chains Byron and Bill’s Restaurants and the Graze.com online fruit and nuts business. The Sunday Times 2015 business rankings also recognised Langley Holdings, owner of Manroland Sheetfed, at No 99 in the Top 100 companies and Xerox concessionaire Xeretec at No 60 in the Profit 100.

Route 1 Print has no intention of slowing. Kinsella says: “We are thrilled to be in the Fast Track 100. We are delighted that we have been recognised for our growth over the last three years, it makes all the hard work seem worthwhile.

“Only last year we moved to a new office which led us to employing more than 61 new staff in the local area since June. This achievement is something that all of our team have contributed to.”

At the same time the company installed a B1 eight-colour perfecting Speedmaster to join two B2 presses.
