The Xeikon Cheetah is 56% faster than the existing Xeikon 3000 series label presses, thanks to new toner, electronics and, it is thought, changes to the imaging system. Mercian Labels is one of five Xeikon users chosen to trial the Cheetah ahead of a full commercial introduction at Labelexpo later this year. The press will extend the footprint of digital printing into flexo to a greater extent than ever before says Mercian managing director Dr Adrian Steele.
