The company has built a new showroom and recruited to underline its intent for the Platinum Technologies Liyu machines.
Soyang Europe has created a 550m2 space to become a new showroom for the Platinum Technologies Liyu printers it is now GB distributor for.
The company has removed the walls that had previously segregated machines from Mimaki, Fujifilm or Jetrix from each other and from finishing machinery. All machinery will now be in the same open space as three large machines from Platinum Technologies. These will be the Signature Hybrid, the Platinum KCXL+ UV flatbed and the roll to roll Platinum PCT LED.
The idea is to take the Platinum Technologies machines to the Print Show and then install them in the expanded facility. A Soyang open day will follow at still to be determined later date.
The design of the expanded showroom is intended to follow the minimalist approach of the main European showroom for the manufacturer in Dusseldorf. And like that, the focus will be on running bespoke demonstrations, examining printed samples and discussing the applications. The availability of cutting tables and finishing equipment on site will allow visitors to follow the job through from start to finish.
The investment in the facility is mirrored by investment in people. Soyang has take on Andy Webb as commercial director with responsibility for the hardware solutions. His background includes positions with major OEMs including Fujifilm and Canon.
Ian Windebank has joined as a wide format specialist. He will be heavily involved with customers, helping devise the appropriate technology for their needs. He was at InkTec Europe for 11 years before joining Soyang.
The company has sent engineers for training in Dusseldorf to provide the installation expertise and infield service experience that will be needed as Soyang expands on the back of the distribution deal.
“Our partnerships with Platinum Technologies Liyu represents an exciting new chapter for Soyang and this investment demonstrates our long term commitment to its success,” says Soyang CEO Mark Mashiter.
“We believe this combination of innovative technology and exceptional customer care will help drive the continued growth of the Platinum Technologies Liyu brand across Great Britain.”
Soyang shares GB distribution with Perfect Colours.
