Norwich printer Page Brothers is continuing a diversification strategy with acquisition of a local sign and display print business.
Page Brothers has continues its diversification strategy with the acquisition of BDH Tullford, a Norwich printer serving retailers and FMCG brands.
There has been collaboration between the two businesses over recent years, deepened by movement of Page Bros people to BD&H, and a supplier relationship. That will increase with increased cross selling, offering Page Brothers customers an increased range of products in terms of point of sale, signage and large format graphics.
The 30-strong business is moving to the expansive Page Brothers factory with increased facility for storage and creating the kits supplied to retailers for in store marketing.
The deal is the second since a management team led by Alex Tuya acquired Page Brothers at the end of 2020. At the start of last year it acquired greetings card and stationery publisher Art Angels and later in the year invested in a Canon ColorStream 6000 inkjet press, mainly for book and exam paper work. This accounts for 50% of the group’s £14.4 million turnover and while the company has strengthened this area of business while moving away from lower margin work, the diversification will bring increased stability to the business as well as boost to turnover.
CEO Tuya says: “BD&H has a fantastic reputation for creativity and excellence, and the kind of specialist print and design that really stands out in a retail environment. They were already trusted suppliers to Page Bros, and their work consistently impressed us. So, when the chance came to bring our businesses together, it felt like the obvious next step.
“As soon as conversations began, we could see how closely their strengths matched what our customers have been asking for. We are now in a position to offer a wider, more joined up range of services, and it opens the door to some new and exciting opportunities for both companies.”
The display graphics printer works in partnership with clients to achieve high impact point of sales materials. It has small as well as large format digital printing and screen printing suited to branded apparel as well signage and banners.
