Agfa UK is to start selling Kongsberg cutting tables and will feature a model at the showroom in Rugby that gets an official opening next week.
The moves follows the creation of Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems with Stuart Fox as CEO after its sale by Esko earlier this year. Agfa had introduced its own Acorta cutting table five years ago, but this is no longer listed as a product on Agfa’s website.
The deal with Kongsberg fills that gap for customers that want a single supplier to provide and support a cutting table to partner its large format inkjet machine. Agfa UK will be able to provide the range of cutting tables.
Bobby Grauf, Agfa’s inkjet sales manager UK and Ireland, says: “The new arrangement with Kongsberg PCS perfectly complements our added value propositions. Kongsberg PCS is undoubtedly the market leader in digital cutting solutions.
“Being able to demonstrate Kongsberg cutting tables live in Rugby makes it so much easier for our customer to select the right printing and finishing solutions to suit their business. Agfa’s global headquarters in Belgium and Canada are already demonstrating the seamless link between Agfa and Kongsberg systems, and now we can do the same much closer to home.
“Our aim is to help our customers navigate through the industry’s complex range of wide format kit, so offering complementary products and services will make life much easier for them.”
There will be a C60 table in the 300m2 premises. Agfa will be opening with a celebratory barbecue on 7-8 July. This is an example of the table capable of cutting both rigid and rollfed media.
